Zoo Day!

A fun day with cousins on BOTH sides!
(On the far left and far right, my sis Nicole's girls, Kenxie & Lexie)
(On the top, Rick's bro Troy's little girl, Macey)

Despite the girls best attempt screaming, "Wake up baby elephant!" she was too tired and slept the whole time we were there!

Not sure who had the most fun....the kids
or the "BIG KIDS?!?"

My hillarious dad

So maybe I am the ONLY person who finds my dad hillarious, but he and I can laugh at the stupidest things. We have been known to egg each other on, trying to out-due each other.

Well, my mom, sis, and I drug him to the county fair with us. He usually hates big crowds, but I told him we would make fun of all the carnies...so he was in.

At this one tent/booth, there were some oriental people selling all this junk. (Maybe to them it was treasures, who knows.) So, I told my dad to try on this hat... and that hat... and it turned into us laughing our guts out.

He's my fav. He just get's younger and funner each year! Love ya dad.

I should have known better...

I was craving Robintino's spaghetti for lunch today. Nicole (my sis) and I thought we could run there with all 4 of our kids.
Ha, ha, ha. Now that's a funny thought!
Here's a quick wrap up. Keep in mind, this was all in the first 20 minutes.
Lexie (Nic's oldest) sucked up ranch into her straw.
Then she blew it in my face, and down my neck, and on my shirt.
Kenzie (Nic's 2 year old) wanted some garlic bread.
It was gone, so I gave her mine.
She crumbled it up into a ball, then threw it at me.
Hailey had the giggles, which egged the kids on to be
as naughty as they could.
Tayler wanted to sit by me, she climbed over and pulled
my entire plate of spaghetti on the floor. And into my purse.
CHECK PLEASE! NOW, DAMMIT!!!!
I go to pay, my debit card declined. Rick forgot to transfer money.
I had to use my shopping money for New York.
It was fabulous.
I don't think I will be craving Robintino's spaghetti for a while...
and if I do, I'll just eat some out of my purse.

Kids say the darndest things...

This was a conversation today with Hailey...
Hailey: Mom, I think I need one more year of Kindergarten.
Me: Why? You finally get to eat lunch at school and have 3 recess'!
Hailey: Well, I just think I better have one more year of Kindergarten.
Me: Well, I don't think that's gonna happen, Hay.
(after about 30 seconds of deep thought)
Hailey: I know! (screaming) I can be sick!
Me: (trying to hide a laugh) I don't think that's gonna work.
Hailey: (another 10 seconds later) Oh! I can be out of town!
Me: (not doing very well hiding my laugh) I still don't think that's gonna work.
Hailey: (maybe 20 seconds later) I know! I can pretend that I don't have a backpack for school!
Me: (now laughing outloud at her first attempt to get out of something she doesn't want to do...
hmmm, I think she has listened to me on Sunday mornings, or something?) LOL
Hailey: Let me think... what if i have to be in time out cause I didn't do my jobs? Cause I can't go ANYWHERE if I don't do my jobs.
Me: Oh, Hay. You are funny. I think no matter what, you are going to 1st grade.
Hailey: (defeated) Well, I guess we better go buy me a new backpack then.
Me: Yeah, I think you made the right choice, Hailey. I was biting my tongue & laughing, she really thought she had a choice in the matter.
I love this girl. What will I do without her all day? You raise your kids for 6 years, 24 hours per day, then you just send them off to school one day for 6 hours and 40 minutes? Ugh. It's gonna be tough.

"Hello Honey...Nice to meet you."

After many many months with no one-on-one time, Rick and I finally got to sneak away for a much needed "Date Night."

(tilt your head to see this picture, a 6 year old was our photographer. Thanks, Hay!)

I told Rick that I was in charge of planning our very over-due date night. I got a babysitter (thanks Grandma Boop) a fun, hot car (thanks mom) and suprised Rick with a romantic dinner at La Caille.

What a yummmmmy dinner it was!!! I had mouth-watering lobster tail, Rick ordered a juicy rib-eye, we ate delicious salads, shrimp cocktail, and fabulous chocolate-dipped strawberries. Needless to say, it was a nice quiet dinner full of adult conversation and even comfortable, peaceful moments of silence.

The wandering peacocks made us do a double-take, thinking our kids were showing up to crash our date. They stole our bread, fought with each other and even pooped by our table. (LOL) Just like home sweet home!

Too pretty to eat? Whatever! Sooooo good!!!
We capped off the date with a movie at the Gateway.
I love you, babe. ;) Let's do it again....

Food, Family, Fireworks, & lot's of FUN!

Happy (late) 4th of July!
We did what I expect almost everyone in America did- went to the parade, had a BBQ, and watched fireworks! There is nothing better in this world than a day of fun, family, and fireworks. I am grateful to live in this beautiful country, and even more thankful for our freedom. God Bless the USA!

Taylor Swift Concert 2009

Rick came home and asked me and the girls, "Do you girls wanna go to bed or to the Taylor Swift concert?" Of course the girls freaked out, jumping up and down screaming! We got there and he told me, "Heath, they are like nose-bleed section, they aren't very good." I told him that didn't matter, the girls are 3 and 6 afterall! Well, I should have known Rick better than that! Where did we sit? FRONT ROW! When Taylor walked out, she marched right to my girls and shook their little hands they were holding up. I cried, Rick cried, the girls were estatic. They love Taylor Swift! We are going to see her in Cheyenne, WY over the 24th of July. Can you guess where we are sitting? Yes, somehow Rick got front row AGAIN!
We are Taylor Swift groupies!
